The extra tools I needed were things like Hex headed sockets to fit the Hex Head stainless steel bolts I am using for various parts (Timing cover, Rocker cover etc), also an extra, smaller socket set. I also needed circlip pliers and a few extra spanners. I bought some piston ring pliers and a tool for compressing piston rings to get the piston into the bore. I also treated myself to an angle grinder. Next I bought a Dremel from E-bay, plus a load of attachments for it, and I also purchased a grease gun and some crimping pliers (to make up my own plug leads). Never had such a comprehensive tool kit!!

Everything was prepared and ready to go.........................................!!

April 2006

The garage was a mess and I needed some new tools. I also, in the light of my intention to build my own engine, needed an engine stand and an engine crane to get it up there ready for working on.

The engine stand was purchased from "ScrewFix" and the crane was borrowed from a nearby friend and engineer. The garage was cleaned out (for the first time in ages!) and tool kit brought up to date. I even put some rugs on the floor!!
