I purchased another transducer from Jim at JRV8 just in case. Taking into account the rarity of these parts, its good to have it as a spare now. | ||||

The worse bits were the footwell extension (as its really difficult to get at on your own) and the roll bars. It's all pretty much back together now bar the seats and I hope to take it for a test drive at the weekend. Once that is successfully completed, I will apply for IVA!! | ||||

After a week away skiing, and some time to think, the only real
option to sort out the gear selection is to take the body off. I
haven't got a pit or ramp, and it is almost impossible to get at the
remote from underneath anyway. I had thought of taking the engine
out, together with the gearbox, but I think the easiest option is
the body....I hope. I have got a bunch of willing helpers and I
intend to do this on the weekend of the 26th March. This will give
me time to disconnect all the things I need too and prepare the body
for lifting. On the upside, (if there is one!!) this will give me an insight as to how easy it is to remove the body for when I want to put a bigger engine in!! (got to stay positive!) |

| 26th Feb 2011 | Got the "MOT" done yesterday. The emissions were high so we backed of the mixture a bit. Set the lights up and set tracking. I also had them check the brakes for me. There was a bit of an imbalance on the front so will bleed again as there is probably a bit of air still in one.The main issue is with the gearbox. I can only get 3rd, 4th and reverse!! Think its remote selector issue but really don't know how to get at it now to adjust.........watch this space!! | ||||

| 20th Oct 09 | I was going to start fitting the roll hoops at the weekend but fell at the first hurdle!! My right angle attachment for the drill would only take up to a 10mm bit. The hole cutting saws I have need 13mm. Because the angle attachment only accepts a 3/8" threaded chuck I couldn't find one locally at all, they were all 1/2", So I have sent for one and it should be with me tomorrow!! I have been rubbing down and compounding the body and having a big problem with the front nearside wing (mentioned earlier in the body section of the site). Because of the deformity in it, the rubbing down to get it smooth has revealed lots of tiny white spots. Air bubbles I guess. I am trying to patch them by drilling them out with a small dremel attachment and then filling with Gel and rubbing down again. Not easy to show the results but will post some pics once I have done as much as I can. | ||||
